Vice President’s Report
Vice President Thad Liamzon reports on a week of service projects, new member briefings and the Global Grant effort, in lieu of the President’s Corner.
(*NB: Upon instructions of President Bobby Joseph who is still indisposed as he is still confined at Asian Hospital and Medical Center, in lieu of the President’s Corner for this week, below is my Vice President’s Report.)
Dear Fellow Manila Rotarians,
In observance of Eid’l Fitr last week, there was no Weekly Membership Meeting as it was a holiday. Last week was quite a significant week in terms of Service Above Self with an array of activities.
Our Life Savers Project in collaboration with JCI Makati yielded a donation of Php 20,000 worth of infant diapers and four (4) industrial fans to the Philippine General Hospital last May 18, 2021 as the hospital needed much help since it caught fire recently.
With respect to our Sinag-Aralan Eduaksyon Project in collaboration with JCI Makati, STAR Rtn. Lance Tan together with two other members of JCI Makati picked up 1,489 assorted reference books donated by Cheer Up Missions through the auspices of the Rotary Club of New Orleans at the Rotary Club of Manila Office last May 18, 2021.
On the same date, two more prospective members, Ralph Joseph and Stefan Schmidtz underwent the required Rotary Briefing. Likewise, during that same date, STAR Rtn. Lance Tan, STAR Rtn. Joey Garcia and I were in consultations with an expert on Global Grants as we are on the way towards a last ditch effort for such grant before the Rotary Year 2020-2021 ends.
Things are getting brighter for the club as we enter the homestretch of the Rotary year. Congratulations to the winners of the 17th Tourism Awards!
