Q: What is the policy on attendance of the Secretariat Staff at Rotary Club of Manila events?
A: The following item in the Code of Policies is authoritative:
“5.7.1 Attendance of Secretariat Staff at RCM Events The policy for staff attendance at RCM events is as follows: All invitations for RCM staff members to attend any RCM function or any other meeting or event shall be sent to the Secretary, who shall determine whether such invitations should be accepted and which staff member(s) should attend which meeting or event. In making such determinations, the Secretary shall be satisfied that the requested attendance is justified in view of the overall priorities of the club.”
Q: What are the duties of the Club Secretary with respect to management of the Secretariat?
A: The following item in the Code of Policies is authoritative:
“5.5.1.1 Management The Secretary shall apply progressive management techniques to improve the operation of the Secretariat Offices consistent with the resources available for such operations. The Secretary also shall monitor the operation of the Secretariat and make necessary adjustments in the allocation of responsibilities assigned to the respective staff, so that the services of the Secretariat are rendered in the most cost-effective manner possible.”
