Incoming President’s Corner

Incoming President Chito Zaldarriaga thanks the outgoing board and introduces the RY 2021-2022 theme, “Serve to Change Lives”.

Greetings my dear brothers in RCM,

Welcome to another year of Rotary with our most beloved club, the Rotary Club of Manila, the oldest club in Asia and most recently awarded the Most Outstanding Rotary Club Award Overall for the RY 2020-2021. What an awesome honor indeed. And of course, our dear Immediate Past President Bobby Joseph, who was awarded the Most Outstanding Rotary Club President Overall for RY 2020-2021 in District 3810 truly deserves this award.

I also want to express my utmost thanks to the Outgoing Board of Directors and Executive Officers for a job well done and for bringing our club to new heights during its 102rd year. To IPP Jackie, VP Thad, Dir. Albert, Dir. Johnny, Dir. Celso, AT/Dir. Jujut, Dir. Hans, Dir. Farid, RCManila Foundation, Inc. Chairman/Programs Committee IPVP Hermie, RCManila Foundation, Inc. President and Board Adviser PP Susing, Secretary Reggie, Treasurer Karlo, SAA Dave, BLA Amading, Board Adviser PP Teddy, AS Henry, AT Marcus and all my fellow Manila Rotarians, I thank and salute you all!

This year – we are tasked to move to the theme: “Serve to Change Lives”. A daunting task, yes – but with the “super powers” that RCM members are known for- we can and will achieve this task. Through focused and potent projects that are designed to change lives, I believe this theme is going to be really interesting. Already there are some in the pipeline that will be announced in due time. I call on every member to participate in joining committees and actively get involved in projects that will help us achieve our goals of changing and improving the lives of our less fortunate countrymen.

Let us strive to do projects that will help our people engage in livelihood, find work, and generate income that will change their lives. The end of this pandemic still seems to be far in sight, and a lot of people are still without work. Interestingly, new ways of survival have sprouted all around us. Let us all keep our eyes and ears open on how we can spearhead key projects that will propel these people to a sustainable and better life.

On behalf of my co-servants in the new Board of Directors, please pray that our Almighty God will grant us the wisdom, guidance and energy to be the best we can be and fulfill the task as we “Serve to Change Lives”.

Maraming Salamat po! May God bless us all!

Yours in Rotary Service, FELIX FRANCISCO “CHITO” S. ZALDARRIAGA, President RY 2021-2022
