Community Service Project: Disaster Response for Flood Victims of Cavite, July 25-26, 2021

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

First of all, we wish to thank you all for quickly responding to the urgent call of our fellow Rotarians from Cavite Area to PP Jackie Rodriguez and I to come to the aid of our distressed Caviteños affected by the flood caused by the Southwest Monsoon rains brought about by Typhoon Fabian. This is a joint undertaking between the Rotary Club of Manila and RCManila Foundation, Inc.

The packing activity was done at my farm, Esguerra Farms, in Lipa City with PP Jackie Rodriguez, STAR Rtn. Mike Albaña, STAR Rtn. Teddy Tee Jr. and STAR Rtn. Anton Mauricio. Present likewise were DGE Joyce Michelle Socorro Ambray, DGN Lai de la Cruz as well as other Rotarians and Rotaractors from the Cavite Area.

We spent Php 178,343.25 worth of relief packages for 350 families. Each pack was composed of a pail that contained a loaf of bread, corned beef, soy sauce, noodles, sugar, coffee, cake sandwiches and sanitation packages of alcohol, laundry soap, bath soap, toothbrush and toothpaste. These packages were distributed last July 26, 2021.

Because of the exigency of the situation, I volunteered to advance the payment of expenses. Below is the financial report. The excess amount from the donations will be placed in a restricted account for future disaster relief undertakings.

Very truly yours,
