Guidelines for the Election of the Board of Directors for RY 2022-2023
Guidelines on who may vote and be voted upon, the election schedule and the steps for voting through the Election Runner application.
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
I. Guidelines Regarding the Elections for Board of Directors for RY 2022-2023:
1. In order for the elections to be valid, a quorum consisting of “one third of the membership” which is equivalent to 74 members must be present.
2. TO VOTE AND BE VOTED UPON (NOMINEES), candidates should have paid the full year’s membership dues and other financial commitments for club project/s on or before August 31, 2021.
3. TO VOTE (THE ELECTORATE), deadline for settlement of annual dues in order to be able to vote is on or before September 8, 2021.
4. Candidates must possess at least one (1) year residency in the Rotary Club of Manila at the time of nomination, otherwise, the nominee shall be automatically disqualified.
5. Members are required to vote for no less than five (5) candidates. Ballots with less than five (5) votes will be automatically nullified.
6. Date of Election: September 9, 2021 Poll Opens: 11:00 AM Poll Closes: 1:30 PM (Voting for the last member who enters at that time shall be accepted.) Election System Closes: 1:45 PM
7. The results of the elections will be announced immediately after the canvassing of the votes.
II. Mode of Conduct of Election
We will be adopting the ELECTION RUNNER application which was used during the election of the Board of Directors for RY 2021-2022. For multiple email users, please email the Rotary Club of Manila Secretariat through rotaryclubofmanila@gmail.com, the preferred email to be used during Election Day. Otherwise, the email address used for by the member in receiving the Weekly Meeting advisories will be the default email to be used.
Below are the simple steps that we will follow to successfully participate in the Election Process using your preferred / default email address in use by the Rotary Club of Manila:
1. Make sure your internet line is available and functioning.
2. You will receive an E-Mail with a Link.
3. Click on the Link and a Website will open.
4. Choose a minimum of five (5) and a maximum of eight (8) candidates.
5. Click Submit.
6. You will receive a confirmation page saying, “THANK YOU FOR VOTING IN THIS ELECTION.”
