The Week That Was
At the second Club meeting of the new Rotary year, three new STAR Rotarians took their oath of membership and the Club’s committees and digital archiving project were presented.

The World Famous Music Chorale Audiovisual Presentation of the RC Manila Hymn and the singing of the Philippine Rotary Hymn once again enlivened the Manila Rotarians’ spirit.
The second Club meeting for the new Rotary year had Rtn. Alvin Ampil as Program Moderator/Facilitator, who called the day’s sequential order of activities. Sounding the bell, SDG/President Hermie Esguerra called the meeting to order. Humbly calling upon a Divine power, STAR Rtn. Bon Li led the Invocation and Special Prayer. The Philippine National Anthem was made more meaningful and alive by the Rotary Club of Manila Audiovisual Presentation.

STAR Rtn. Paolo Magpale led the recitation of the Rotarian Pledge – a perfect way to reinforce Manila Rotarians’ collective resolve to live by the motto: Service Above Self. Rtn. Emyl Eugenio led the recitation of the time-honored Four (4) Way Test.
STAR Rtn. Alvin Ampil, Program Moderator/Facilitator, gleefully acknowledged the week’s birthday celebrants, namely, Rtn. Bobby Bhalia, Rtn. Ingmar Bertelsen, Rtn. Joel Valdes and PDG Rudy Bediones. They were serenaded by the World Famous Music Chorale’s unique and jolly ‘happy birthday’ song.

STAR Rtn. Jop Esquivias introduced inductee Joseph Manuel A. Dela Cruz. Rtn. Romy Nones introduced inductee Nantha Kumar Narayanamoorthy. Rtn. Ralph Joseph introduced inductee Michael Raymond Gonzales.
During the President’s time, SDG/President Hermie Esguerra underscored the formation of Committees to undertake the plans and projects for Rotary year 2022-2023. He also announced the digital archiving project, which aims to preserve and catalogue all records and documents. He then deputized Secretary Edwin Hernandez to make the presentation.

With a beautiful cadence in his speech, PDG Obet Pagdanganan gave an inspiring charging to the newly minted Star Rotarians. His timeless message equally resonated with all Manila Rotarians. The new Star Rotarians took their oath of membership before SDG/President Hermie Esguerra.
SDG/President Hermie Esguerra delivered his closing remarks and thereafter, adjourned the meeting. RCM Committees and projects were presented by Secretary Edwin Hernandez. Important points were further elucidated and clarified during the open forum participated by Dir. Hans Palacios and Dir.
