Bamboo planted along the Panigan River in Carmen, Davao, serves as boundaries for the Obu-Manuvu farmers' lots in Mount Karilongan.

PDGN Jackie Rodriquez's father donated that land to the Obu Manuvu tribe many years ago to.

The NGO called EGIP which planted the bamboo is run by members of our sister club in Davao.

One month ago, we got together with Bamboo Expert Dr. Burkhard Kiehne (our guest speaker on bamboo last March 3, 2022) and we discussed about planting bamboo in IP land. From the giant bamboo, we planted 50 and 48 of them survived. Most of the bamboos were planted along the Panigan River in Carmen, Davao. They serve as boundaries for the Obu-Manuvu farmers' lots in Mount Karilongan and in some landslide-prone areas.
