The Week That Was

The 8th Regular Meeting went smoothly with STAR Rtn. Jop Esquivas as Program Moderator/ Facilitator. Sounding the bell, Pres. Hermie Esguerra called the meeting to order.

Humbly calling upon our loving Father God, STAR Rtn. Emman Dela Cruz led the Invocation and Special Prayer.

The Philippine National Anthem was made more animated and meaningful by the Rotary Club of Manila Audiovisual Presentation , featuring captivating images of Manila Rotarians.

Everyone’s Rotarian spirit was again electrified with the World Famous Music Chorale Audiovisual Presentation of the RC Manila Hymn and the singing of the Philippine Rotary Hymn .

STAR Rtn. Aries Balanay led the recitation of the time-honored Four (4) Way Test.

The World Famous Chorale sang RCM’s signature Welcome Song to the delight of the guest. The Club’s Visiting Guest was duly acknowledged, giving importance to his presence in the meeting.

STAR Rtn. Jop Esquivas , Program Moderator/Facilitator, acknowledged the week’s birthday celebrants, namely Rtn. Juan Montel , Rtn. Deo Villacorta and Rtn. Richard Ang . This was followed by the World Famous Music Chorale singing the happy birthday song.

PD John Cutter introduced the new inductee Pablo Calles Arguelles , Sales and Marketing Manager, International Sales Head, Tabacalera Incorporada.

Rtn. JB Pallasigue introduced the new inductee Michael D. Roxas , Chairman and CEO, MOORE, Roxas, Cruz, Tagle & Co.

DGN Jackie Rodriguez took the stage and delivered a moving message for the charging of new members.

Pres. Hermie Esguerra led the new inductees as they took their Oath of Membership.

Pres. Hermie Esguerra once again highlighted the Rotary events that took place in the past week during his President’s time.

Manila Rotarians were given a report of the Club’s financial status by Treas. Karlo Castro .

Rtn. Art dela Cruz introduced the Guest Speaker , Rtn. Joel Valdes , President of Joel C. Valdes and Associates, Inc., and former Undersecretary of the Department of Finance.

Guest Speaker Rtn. Joel Valdes did not disappoint as he delivered an interesting and informative talk.

Pres. Hermie Esguerra delivered his closing remarks and thereafter, adjourned the meeting.

Important points were further elucidated and clarified during the open forum participated by PD Oscar del Rosario , IPD Amading Valdez , Asst. Treas. PJ Garcia and DGN Jackie Rodriguez .
