The 17th Regular Meeting: A Recap

The RC Manila Hymn was proudly sang, led by the World Famous Music Chorale through an audiovisual presentation. RCM’s 17th Regular Meeting, which was held jointly with the Rotary Club of Manila South, had PD Issam Eldebs as Program Moderator/Facilitator. Sounding the bell, RC Manila VP Reggie Yu and RC Manila South Pres. Henry Villa respectively called the joint meeting to order. After featuring the Russian National Anthem, the Philippine National Anthem was sang. The Rotary Club of Manila Audiovisual Presentation of “Lupang Hinirang” uniquely featured captivating images of Manila Rotarians.

Setting the tone of the meeting, RC Manila South Rtn. Joselito Upo led the Invocation and Special Prayer. Rtn. Henry Entradora, RC Manila South led the recitation of the Four (4) Way Test.

To warmly greet the visitors and guests, the World Famous Chorale sang RCM’s signature Welcome Song. The Moderator acknowledged and introduced the Visiting Guests and Rotarians.

The week’s birthday celebrants were duly acknowledged, namely PD Nick Locsin, AS/DE Mike Albaña and Rtn. Junjie Vazquez. This was followed by the World Famous Music Chorale singing the unique happy birthday song.

VP Reggie Yu delivered the president’s time on behalf of Pres. Hermie Esguerra. RC Manila South Pres. Henry Villa delivered his president’s time.

Rtn. Vic Garcia introduced the Guest of Honor and Speaker, His Excellency Marat Ignatyevich Pavlov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of the Philippines. Russian Ambassador Marat Ignatyevich Pavlov delivered his speech.

Important points were further discussed and elucidated during the open forum participated by PD Beda Fajardo, Rtn. Rami Chahwan, IPD Amading Valdez, Dir. Hans Palacios, PD John Cutter, PE Raffy Alunan, RC Manila South Pres. Henry Villa and Doctor Ferdie Pasion.

President Hermie Esguerra (represented by VP Reggie Yu) and Programs Committee Chairman IPD Amading Valdez presented the Certificate of Appreciation, attested by Club Secretary Edwin Hernandez, to Guest of Honor and Speaker His Excellency Marat Ignatyevich Pavlov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of the Philippines.

RC Manila VP Reggie Yu and RC Manila South Pres. Henry Villa respectively delivered their closing remarks and adjourned the meeting.

The singing of the Philippine Rotary Hymn again electrified the Rotarian spirit of everybody in attendance. The beautifully organized images depicting Rotary service and activities perfectly blended with the music and lyrics of this iconic hymn.
