Rtn. Senen T. Mangalile was unanimously acclaimed by the President and Members of the Rotary Club of Barasoain as its Honorary Member after serving as Guest of Honor and Speaker at the Club’s 21st Weekly Members Meeting on February 7th. Acting on an impromptu motion from the floor, RC Barasoain President Carlo Pacifico U. Aniag approved the same and formally accepted Rtn Senen as the Club’s second-ever Honorary Member, in the presence of its first, PDG Pacifico “Boy” Aniag of District 3770.
The proclamation followed Rtn. Senen’s speech which traced his awareness and understanding of Rotary to his work in the early ‘90s as lay-out artist of club bulletins, souvenir programs and other publications of numerous Rotary clubs in District 3770 during the incumbency of PDG Boy.

Rtn Senen declared that while he only recently became a member of RC Barasoain’s grandmother club, he has always endeavored to apply the Four-Way Test and other Rotarian ideals during his 26 years of service as a diplomat, particularly in protecting the interests of Filipinos working and living abroad.
RC Barasoain is a daughter club of RC Malolos, which in turn is a daughter club of RC Manila. Incidentally, RC Malolos, assisted by all its daughter clubs in Bulacan, is preparing to celebrate its 75th anniversary this coming July, hopefully with the presence of a sizable delegation from its mother club.
