Capt. Stanley Kua Ng

CAPT. Stanley Kua Ng is the President and Chief Operating Officer at Philippine Airlines (PAL). As President and COO since January 2022, Capt. Ng is leading the Philippine flag carrier’s ongoing transformation journey towards a thriving future as a dynamic competitor in international aviation.

Amid major transition challenges impacting the aviation industry in 2022 and 2023, PAL has progressively rebuilt its global and domestic network, introduced product and service enhancements, and strengthened teams and digital platforms to elevate the customer experience.

During his tenure, the airline was recognized as one of the Philippines’ Best Customer Service Brands for 2023 (Inquirer/Statista customer survey); placed 4th among Asia-Pacific airlines in the Cirium On Time Performance Awards for 2022; won the Manila Times Global Excellence Award for 2023; and garnered the Singapore Changi Airport Resilience Award in 2022.

Captain Ng previously served as PAL’s Senior Vice President for Operations from 2019 to early 2022, where he took charge of overseeing the airline’s overall operations, including its technical training, engineering and airport teams as well as PAL’s internationally-respected pilots and cabin crew. A dynamic and performance-driven executive, he led the implementation of transformation initiatives that successfully improved PAL’s on-time performance (OTP) and reliability.

Captain Ng has over 15 years of comprehensive expert knowledge and involvement in the aviation industry. He has held the positions of PAL Chief Pilot for Airbus narrowbody aircraft (A320/A321) from June 2018 to January 2019; and Deputy Chief Pilot for Airbus A320/A321 from April 2018 to May 2018. He served as Chief Instructor Pilot for Airbus A320/A321 from February 2017 to March 2018 as well as Instructor Pilot and Designated Check Airman from April 2016 to January 2017. He performed his duties as Captain for Airbus A320/A321 aircraft from August 2015 to March 2016 and First Officer for Airbus widebody (A330/A340) aircraft from December 2009 to July 2015. He had likewise served as A320 First Officer from January 2008 to November 2009 and as Second Officer for Boeing Division from October 2006 to September 2008. He has been with PAL since 2003, starting his career as airport ground staff, before formally entering the PAL Aviation School.

Captain Ng completed the Advance Management Program at Harvard Business School. He finished his Type Rating Instructor Course and Airbus Pilot Instructor Course at the Airbus Training Center. He also completed his Ab-Initio Cadet Pilot Training Program at PAL Aviation School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Major in Computer Applications at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.

Captain Ng was recognized as one of People Asia’s Men Who Matter in 2022; a Rising Tigers Man of the Year in 2022; and a Rotary Club Aseana Manila Person of the Year for 2022.

He has been a member of the Makati Business Club since 2021 and a SKAL Board Director since April 2023 and was inducted as SKAL President in February 2024. He is presently the co-vice chairman of the infrastructure committee of the Management Association of the Philippines; a member of the boards of Philippine Airlines Inc. and PAL Holdings Inc, MacroAsia Airport Services Corporation, Sabre Philippines and the Philippines-Korea Economic Council (PhilKorEC); and a trustee of the Philippine Eagle Foundation and Tourism Congress of the Philippines.
