Rotary Community Corps of RC Manila Brings Free Healthcare to Calamba, Laguna

THE Rotary Community Corps (RCC) of the Rotary Club of Manila, under the leadership of Director/Chair Rami Chahwan, successfully held its first transformative medical mission in partnership with RC Makati East, RC Makati Uptown, and the Knights of Columbus.

This collaborative effort opened the doors to free medical consultations and services for six barangays within the San Isidro Labrador Parish community in Calamba, Laguna. The mission exemplified the spirit of service and community care, addressing the healthcare needs of over 750 beneficiaries.

This impactful project was made possible through the support of RC Makati East, led by Toots Cortez, and the generous contributions of the Jolly Golfers of Ayala Greenfield, Tots 1 Filipino Foundation, Affinity Capital, AHerrera Wellness Group, Hospital on Wheels, and Pick-Up Coffee, which provided coffee and breakfast for the 175 nurses, doctors, and volunteers from the parish.

The services offered were entirely free of charge and included a wide range of medical and wellness support, such as surgeries (cleft lip, hernia, tumor removal), dental extractions, vision care (including free eyeglasses), physical checkups, feminine wellness exams (Pap smear, breast exams, bone densitometry), laboratory tests (FSB, CBC, urine analysis), special diagnostics (ECG, ultrasound, X-ray), and free medications.

This mission not only delivered essential healthcare but also nurtured hope and well-being within the community.
