District Vibrant Club Workshop

DGND/DSG Hermie Esguerra was the sole representative of the Rotary Club of Manila at the District Vibrant Club Workshop held last December 6, 2025 via Zoom virtual platform. During this event, he was given the task of synthesizing the entire workshop. The following was his synthesis/panel reaction on the entire workshop:

The Rotary Symbiotic Cycle

I am sure not all of us have seen when Rotary was founded, but we know Paul Harris and his three (3) friends started it. In fact, the first impactful community project they had was the installation of the public restroom Room in 1937 in downtown Chicago, and that too was the very first act of Service Above Self, and thus, the public image of Rotary started, and the rest is history.

1. Public Image – “How the world sees us.” A strong public image showcases who we are, what we do, and why Rotary matters. When communities see real stories of service, transparency, and impact, they begin to appreciate Rotary as a trusted and relevant force for good.

2. Then it leads to Membership Attraction – “People join because they see value.” A good public image naturally attracts like-minded leaders who want to belong to something meaningful. People are inspired to join when they see Rotary changing lives, when they witness our culture of fellowship, and when they feel they can contribute their talents to a respected organization.

3. TRF Giving – “The fuel for bigger impact.” As membership grows, so does our capacity. More Rotarians mean more partners, more donors, more advocates. This expands our ability to strengthen The Rotary Foundation—allowing us to fund larger, smarter, and more sustainable projects that create long-term, life-changing impact.

4. Call to Action – “Turning goodwill into movement.” When communities witness meaningful, well-funded Rotary projects, they feel the invitation to act —to volunteer, to support, to collaborate, or even to join. This call to action not only engages the public; it energizes Rotarians themselves, pushing us to dream bigger and do better.

The Cycle Continues

Impactful action improves our Public Image, which boosts Membership Attraction, which increases TRF Giving, which strengthens our Call to Action, which again enhances our Public Image. It is a powerful, self-sustaining chain— a Rotary engine fueled by service, trust, and purpose.
