ONE of the most meaningful moments of our outreach was spending time with Lolo Piding, one of the beneficiaries of our wheelchair distribution. Unable to walk and having already lost his eyesight to untreated glaucoma, his quiet smile and gentle spirit spoke volumes about resilience in the face of hardship.

As I knelt beside him, I was reminded that service is not measured by the value of what we give, but by the dignity, compassion, and human connection we share. A wheelchair may restore mobility, but more importantly, it restores independence, hope, and the reassurance that someone still cares.

ONE of the most inspiring moments of the day was meeting a courageous beneficiary, Caloy, undergoing lifesaving dialysis treatment. As I visited him during his session, I was reminded that behind every machine is a person fighting a daily battle with remarkable strength and resilience.

ONE of the quiet heroes of our medical mission was this dedicated Rotarian volunteer, Jojo, who chose to give the gift of life by donating blood. Every bag collected represents hope for accident victims, mothers in childbirth, children battling illness, and patients undergoing major surgery.

I took a moment to personally thank our blood donors, whose generosity reminds us that some of the most powerful acts of service require no recognition — only a willing heart. Their selfless act may never meet the person whose life they save, yet its impact can last a lifetime.

THE tears did not last long. Moments after receiving her free vaccination, this little girl, Baby Anita, was smiling once again — a simple reminder that a few seconds of discomfort can provide years of protection.
