Transformative Medical Mission 2026

Co-hosted by the Rotary Club of Manila, several other Rotary clubs and civic organizations, and the Chahwan family, the medical mission brought together doctors, nurses, medical professionals, Rotarians, volunteers, and community partners in a shared commitment to serve.

I participated in this meaningful mission, representing the Rotary Club of Manila as Chair of its Rotary Community Corps.

Approximately 1,200 patients benefited from a wide range of free medical services, including chest X-rays and sputum examinations, dental services, blood extraction and laboratory tests, cardiovascular and heart health screening, women’s health and wellness services, endoscopy and colonoscopy, minor surgery, and surgical procedures for hernia and cleft lip.

Beyond the numbers and the range of medical services, what made the day truly meaningful was seeing people come together to make healthcare accessible to those who may otherwise have difficulty obtaining it.

Every consultation, examination, procedure, and act of assistance represented more than medical care. It was an expression of compassion—of giving people not only treatment, but also the reassurance that they are cared for and not forgotten.

As Rotarians, we often speak of “Service Above Self.” On this day, that principle came alive through the generosity of the medical professionals who shared their expertise, the volunteers who gave their time, the organizations that provided support, and everyone who helped make the mission possible.
