Guest Speaker: Atty. Angelo A. Jimenez

ATTY. Angelo A. Jimenez is the 22nd President of the University of the Philippines and the first UP President to come from Mindanao. A labor lawyer and expert in global worker migration, he played a key role in establishing the Philippines' Department of Migrant Workers and previously served as Labor Attaché in Japan, Kuwait, and Iraq. He earned recognition for protecting Filipino workers during international crises, including the Israel-Lebanon conflict and a hostage rescue operation in Iraq.

His government service includes leadership roles at the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Department of Labor and Employment, and the Office of the President. He has also lectured and published on ethical recruitment and gender-responsive migration.

President Jimenez earned his Bachelor of Laws and BA Sociology degrees from UP Diliman, a master's degree from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore, and was a Lee Kuan Yew Fellow at Harvard University.
