Formal Turnover of Neonatal Care Equipment to the Philippine General Hospital

Immediate Past President Raoul Creencia presented the project background for Global Grant #2682583, including the initial meeting with then-President Kim Hong Un of the Rotary Club of Kangjin-Tamjin on 12 July 2025.

The presentation traced the development of the partnership that led to the implementation of the life-saving neonatal intensive care equipment project.

Background: The Rotary Club of Manila signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Rotary Club of Kangjin-Tamjin on July 12, 2025 for Global Grant #2682583.

RC Manila President Reggie Yu, District Governor Nominee Hermie Esguerra, and RC Kangjin-Tamjin President Kim Hong Un delivered their messages during the turnover ceremony. Rotarian Ingil Ra served as translator.

Dr. Gerardo “Gap” Legaspi of UP-PGH; Dr. Aljohn Gonzales, Officer-in-Charge Medical Director; Dr. Edilberto Garcia, Chair of the Department of Pediatrics; and Dr. Esterlita Uy, Chief of the Division of Newborn Medicine, delivered their messages during the turnover ceremony. Rotarian Ingil Ra served as translator.

Also recognized were Immediate Past President Bang Jae Nam of the Rotary Club of Kangjin-Tamjin, Immediate Past President Raoul Creencia of the Rotary Club of Manila, and Immediate Past District Governor Mary Mei.

Dr. Gap Legaspi and President Reggie Yu sealed their partnership with a firm handshake, symbolizing a shared commitment to advancing life-saving healthcare initiatives.

Past Secretary Anton Mauricio moderated the turnover program with professionalism and ease, ensuring a smooth and engaging flow throughout the proceedings.

Also present were District Governor Bing Carrion, Immediate Past District Governor Mary Mei Rodrigo, First Gentleman Alex Rodrigo, and District Governor Hermie Esguerra. Unveiling of the Global Grant #2682583 Four-Way Test Marker

The formal unveiling of the Global Grant #2682583 and Four-Way Test Marker marked the culmination of the turnover program. Installed at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Ward, the marker serves as a lasting symbol of the partnership among the Rotary Club of Manila, the Rotary Club of Kangjin-Tamjin, Rotary International Districts 3610 and 3810, The Rotary Foundation, and UP-PGH.

At the unveiling were RC Kangjin-Tamjin’s President Kim Hong Un and IPP Bang Jae Nam; Rotary Club of Manila President Reggie Yu and IPP Raoul Creencia, witnessed by Immediate Past District Governor Mary Mei Rodrigo, members of the Rotary Club of Manila and Rotary Club of Kangjin-Tamjin, and UP-PGH management team.
