On September 3, 2026, Global AI Council Philippines was invited as a resource to the Senate Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Sen. Risa Hontiveros, to address substandard steel production and unfair labor practices in the industry.
Last June, GACPh joined a multisectoral statement of support on the matter. Quality steel production is a critical component of AI infrastructure being planned for the Philippines, including AI capacity-building projects like Pax Silica. Founder & President Catz Jalandoni and Co-Founder & Trustee Anton Mauricio represented Global AI Council Philippines.
