A team of five from Yazaki-Torres Mfg., Inc. cut delays in FLRYWA wire supply by 81%, a Team Category TOWER award entry.

The FLRYWA wire supply project embarked on by a team of five members, comprising three assemblers and two engineers, showcases a synergy of ingenuity and teamwork. By addressing the significant delays in the supply of FLRYWA wire, the project aimed to reduce this delay by 80% until April 2022, necessitating a thorough analysis of the existing processes, identification of the root causes and implementation of improvements from January to May 2022. Key improvements including auto looping, pneumatic air cylinder wire untwisting device-push button type, and micro limit switch installation led to an impressive 81% reduction in the delay supply of flyrwa wire, surpassing their initial target and realizing an overall achievement of 161%. These improvements not only minimized conveyor stoppages but also eliminated awkward operation, enhancing the overall efficiency of daily tasks for operators. Furthermore, these improvements contributed to compliance with the daily delivery plan, and resulted in cost savings of P227,310.33 for a period of three months. These improvements were standardized and horizontal implementation was effected in all applicable production lines. All these endeavours underscore the team’s commitment to efficiency and meeting production targets.

The nominees are likewise actively engaged in activities within their families and communities, thus maintaining a balance between work responsibilities and personal commitments. They maintain strong family bonds and contribute their time and talents to community initiatives, demonstrating a commitment to social responsibility. Their simple family upbringing inspired and motivated them to give their best in everything and to always act with concern for others.
