Dr. Andreas Michael Pfaffernoschke

Dr. Andreas Michael Pfaffernoschke, Ambassador of the German Embassy in Manila, has a distinguished diplomatic career. Born in Berlin on June 19, 1962, he has dedicated his career to advancing international relations and representing Germany worldwide.

Ambassador Pfaffernoschke completed his secondary school qualification in Berlin in 1980. He earned a master’s degree in economics in 1985 and a Doctor of Economics degree in 1990, both in Berlin.

Dr. Pfaffernoschke began his diplomatic career in 1990 with training for the higher foreign service at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. He has held key positions at the Federal Foreign Office in Bonn and at German embassies in Dakar and Moscow. He also served at the Permanent Mission of Germany to the United Nations in Geneva and New York, demonstrating expertise in multilateral diplomacy. From 2006 to 2010, Dr. Pfaffernoschke served as Deputy Head of Division at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. He was Head of Division from 2016 to 2020, further establishing his leadership in international affairs.

Before his current role in Manila, Dr. Pfaffernoschke was the German Ambassador to Ouagadougou from 2020 to 2023. His broad experience and understanding of global issues support Germany's diplomatic efforts in thePhilippines. Dr. Pfaffernoschke is married with four children. Both professionally and personally, he is committed to promoting international connections and mutual understanding.
