Project Completion Report: District 3810 “Handog Makeover”

On March 31, 2026, Rotary International District 3810, in partnership with PAFJO TMJ OFP Inc., successfully conducted the “Handog Makeover District Dental Mission” at the Viridian, Greenhills Social Hall.

Report:

RI District 3810, in partnership with PAFJO TMJ OFP Inc., successfully conducted the “Handog Makeover District Dental Mission”.

This project, conceptualized together with PDG Joyce Ambray, was designed to support individuals aged 16 to 35 who often struggle to secure employment because appearance and presentation requirements can stand in their way — knowing that a confident smile can open doors.

In this project, fifty (50) young jobseeker beneficiaries received wellfitted dentures, completing a journey that began weeks earlier in the private clinics of volunteer dentists from PAFJO TMJ OFP Inc. and the Rotary Club of Manila Phenomenal Dentists, a daughter club of the Rotary Club of Manila. There, they underwent oral rehabilitation procedures such as prophylaxis, fillings, and extractions. The final denture installation during the mission marked the culmination of their dental transformation — restoring both function and self-esteem.

Far beyond oral health, the program included grooming sessions for men and makeup tutorials for women, followed by styling assistance to ensure they dressed appropriately for the workplace. Each beneficiary received a professional ID photo for job applications. In a heartfelt display of Rotary service, volunteers also donated pre-loved corporate attire, shoes, and belts, helping beneficiaries feel confident and ready for professional environments.

Rotary Club of Manila members prepared beneficiaries for employment by conducting simulated job interviews. These sessions equipped participants with the confidence and communication skills to take on real-world opportunities. Some qualified beneficiaries were even hired on the spot, achieving their dreams of gainful employment.

The project was attended by respected Rotary leaders, including Past District Governors Ernie Choa, Josie Ang, Robert Koa, DGN Jun Pasion, Members of the Executive Committee, District Officers, and United Chosen Presidents, showing unified district commitment under District Governor Mary Mei Rodrigo.

This project reflects Rotary’s spirit— transforming lives through service and opening brighter futures for those in need.
