If you could have dinner with one person—living or dead—who would it be, and why?

If given the opportunity, I wish to have dinner with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. I would like to discuss several matters that are important to me and, hopefully, to our country:

Flood prevention and infrastructure

I would like to share ideas and discuss technologies that could help provide long-term and sustainable solutions to flooding in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and other flood-prone areas throughout the Philippines.

Environmental and air-quality concerns

I would like to discuss my observations regarding the implementation and effectiveness of the Clean Air Act, particularly its impact on air quality and public health. I believe there is a need to explore additional and more effective approaches to reducing air pollution and protecting the health and well-being of Filipinos.

Energy and emissions technology

I would also like to introduce my U.S.-patented technology, which has the potential to reduce energy consumption by as much as 50% while also reducing hydrocarbon and other harmful emissions from engines. I would be grateful for an opportunity to explain the technology and discuss how it might benefit the Philippines.

What’s one hobby or interest that most people in Rotary probably don’t know you have?

Aside from golf, I also enjoy bowling and chess. Grandmaster Eugene is a good friend of mine.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

One piece of advice that has stayed with me for more than 40 years came from a dear friend and banker who has since passed away: “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.” This has been an important guiding principle throughout my life.

If you had one free day with no meetings, emails, or responsibilities, how would you spend it?

During my free time, I often invite my siblings to spend time together at my rest house in Apalit, Pampanga. We enjoy cooking Kapampangan dishes, playing tong-its, having sing-alongs, and simply spending quality time together as a family.

What’s one item on your bucket list that you hope to accomplish someday?

One of my dreams is to eventually convert my rest house into a full-time private resort, where family and friends can gather, relax, and enjoy the beauty and hospitality of Pampanga.
